Marathons: These are 7 individual routes, multi terrain of a minimum of 26.2 miles. There are checkpoints/water/food stations roughly every 5 miles around the course with roving marshals in vehicles together with medical teams
We have 2 'All Road' courses (Kirtling & Clover) we are getting officially measured to be recognised as Road Courses.
Ultra's: These are min 32 miles and consist of an additional 6 mile route after the completion of the marathon route (which serves as the last checkpoint).
Half marathons: These are roughly 13 miles as above.
Routes: All entrants start at the same time and location which makes it easy for those doing half marathons to start their day with friends and family, completing approximately the first 6 miles of the marathon course and splitting at the first checkpoint.
Start times: 8am for all entries and all events*. Please register your name at Event Control when you arrive. There will be a briefing at 7.40am each day to advise on routes, weather and anything special for that day.
* For safety reasons the start time in the Summer for the Thetford course is at 10:00am.
Cut Off times: there will be a generous 7hr cut off time for each course. During daylight hours this can be extended by starting early - this must be agreed in advance.
Start/Finish location: The Academy above. We own the site and therefore everything happens from the site

FREE and plenty of it (included in the ticket price) Please use the main field and do not use the Academy gravel car park which is reserved for Academy use, emergency vehicles and marshals.
For the Summer event please follow signs to park via the entrance in Haysborder Road.
Medals: These will be handed out daily as you complete the events. There are special trophies/t-shirts for those who complete the Quads and 10 in 10's which are presented at the end of their events. For multi days a new ribbon colour for each day. From 2016 we are trying to do a new medal design each year. 2018's is a guarded secret.
The marshals on the route are all volunteers so please be nice to them.
If you wish to be a marshal then you can claim FREE ENTRANCE to a later marathon day during the course of the event. Register interest here.
We now use an paramedic service specifically designed for sporting events called TRAILMED (https://www.trailmed.co.uk).
The paramedic services will start at 8am when the race starts, and will provide special medical cover until the last runner is back and we stand the team down.
The paramedic team are not there to provide foot care or blister popping services, or to administer tablets and painkillers (unless there is good Medical reasons to do so).
Water is available at the checkpoints but please carry your own, especially in hot weather. Bottled water is available for sale at The Academy.
Icebath / cold pool usually avaliable when you arrive back from the summer challenge.

In Summer accomodation is in the form of single sex multi occupant marquee with camp bed, pillow & sheet, and charging facilities in each tent.
For the Winter, Spring & Autumn the use of the Indoor studio will be used with beds, pillow & sheet, and charging facilities.
NOTE: Accommodation cannot be guaranteed until your full fee has been paid.
Alternative Accomodation if bringing the family
We have 2 further alternatives for accomodation on site if you do not wish to have the full board option. For full details click here for Caravan/Camping options. These can be booked now via the GBC shopping page on this website.
For those supporting you or not taking part there is a fee of £8/person/day (kids free) to cover toilets/showers. Toilets and showers are provided.

Includes Race Entry, accomodation (as above) & 3 meals a day:-
Breakfast starts at 6:00am
Lunch when you return
Dinner will be provided which will be a freshly cooked hot evening meal
Drinks: Free Tea/Coffee 24 hours a day for atheletes. £1 for spectators.
Snacks/hotfood: There will be snacks after for atheletes/spectators (payable seperately) during the summer event only
Bar: There are several fully licensed bars on-site with a good stock of beer (including Guinness)
Credit & Debit cards: We accept most card payments
Cheques: Entrance will Not be guaranteed until the cheque has cleared
Cash Machines: None nearby (5 miles) but may be able to offer small cashback if available
Pubs: The village of Barrow has two pubs that serve lunchtime and evening meals. The Weeping Willow is a gastro pub and usually requires booking in advance. The Three Horseshoes is more casual
Shops: There are two shops and a Post Office with a coffee shop plus a fish & chip shop in the village.
Town: Bury St Edmunds is approx. 6 miles up the road and has a vast range of shops and restaurants. Newmarket is 6 miles in the opposite direction.
